I wanted a place
I wanted a place that was safe from my other professional life, a place that was all about poetry, that helped me focus on the written word and exploring on my own, that didn't seem a place marred by personal life and all its attendant distractions. I wanted a place where I could whisper about each holy day, making writing a monastic activity, as my friend put it, without deadlines or expectations. I wanted a place that was worthy of a link to a webpage put up simply because I wanted to exist as a poet should, with bright words and calm space, with deep, deep breaths, and this, poetry.
